Tim set out to raise a minimum of £50,000 this figure would cover the schooling for the children left behind. However Tim hopes that this figure will be exceeded allowing him to put money directly into the local economy to help others affected by the 2015 Nepal Earthquake.
So how do you raise that kind of money, well Tim decided to come up with what could possibly be one of the toughest triathlons out there.
The challenge comprises of cycling the famous Fred Whitton Challenge route a 112 mile cycle over 6 Lakeland passes; before swimming the entire length of Derwent Water and back, a distance of roughly 5.5 miles. After all this its time to run the Bob Graham Round a 66 mile fell run over 42 of the highest peaks in the English Lake District.
Tim completed the challenge in 51 hours and 50 minutes, together with others we offered our video services free of charge and followed Tim on his attempt whilst carrying out photography, videography and aerial videography (Drones), you can see the final film by clicking here or visit Tubadography.
We were then asked to look at Tim’s expedition website, rather than talk about what we did, well, here is what Tim had to say about his new website:
“I have had the pleasure of working with the guys from Tubado on a couple of projects now and I have been suitably impressed from the outset. They are very approachable and flexible and had a better understanding of my needs than I did – which meant that they were able to steer me in the right direction without compromising my vision of what the end product would look like.
If you are wanting a complete website package then they are willing to look after everything for you from hosting to delivery of a modern site that will work across all platforms and devices. But if, like me, you are wanting to have control over content then they will sort this for you as well. For me this was crucial because the nature of my site sometimes changes from week to week and I didn’t want to have to e mail someone somewhere and wait for them to action my request.
To that end Chris did the initial set up and then walked me through the various stages for me to be able to edit and add content to a very dynamic site. Not only that but he managed to explain it in such a way that it all made sense! I can now access my website wherever I am in the world and change the content with ease. I am now well and truly in the 21st Century.
I can’t recommend them highly enough and look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
